sheelerMarine veteran, business owner and progressive Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Carl Sheeler expressed pleasure over the recent polling results published by Prof. Darrell West of Brown University.

Friends of Sheeler spokesperson Sara Pearson conveyed, “These results tend to support our campaign’s internal and anecdotal evidence. These polls reflect name recognition and likeability versus what actual primary voters will do come September 12. To date, we have had no paid television compared to between a quarter to half a million spent by Whitehouse.

“Most folks approve of our “Be Patriotic Impeach Bush” bill board, but fewer than 10% of Rhode Islanders knew those were Carl Sheeler’s sentiments to preserve, protect and defend our Constitution. It’s clear that 32% of primary voters are still undecided and given Carl Sheeler was indicated as having no support by this poll in February we feel it’s likely Sheldon’s 55% to Carl’s 45% at this time, taking into consideration the 5% margin of error.

Ms. Pearson added, “Almost everyone who has met with Carl or heard him speak is very impressed by how likeable and authentic he is on issues they find important. The primary is over two and one half months away. Let’s see where we are after Sheldon agrees to debate with Carl. We’re still waiting on his reply unless this is an example of a pledge he won’t keep.”
